Exchange of experience and modern production technology

The KIN Lebensmittelinstitut is expecting decision-makers from the pet food industry to attend the 2nd Roundtable in Neumünster, Germany. VEMAG Maschinenbau GmbH, Verden/Aller, will again support the event and present modern filling and portioning solutions.

The Lebensmittelinstitut KIN e.V., Neumünster, will host the 2nd Roundtable Pet Food on June 28 and 29, 2023, and the mechanical engineering company VEMAG will once again participate in the event. "We are very much looking forward to intensive discussions and exchanges with the pet food industry," explains VEMAG Managing Director Christoph Thelen. Based on the good experience at the first event, the company is again supporting the Roundtable this year, as the pet food sector is a fast-growing segment for the Verden-based company. "We know that the industry is facing major challenges - keywords here are rising raw material prices, declining raw material availability, staff shortages and rising production costs," explains Thelen. Fittingly, the expert will give a presentation entitled "Modern filling and portioning solutions". "Our systems offer flexible solutions to meet the needs in pet food production," explains Thelen. There are virtually no limits to the range of applications - whether co-extruded products, clipped goods, chews, snacks, meat alternatives or wet food are to be precisely portioned and packaged - the company offers a wide variety of total solutions for pasty, flowable or chunky products as well as doughs and masses. The focus is always on the end product and its high quality. "The fully automated, precise, weight accurate, and gentle depositing and feeding or dosing of products can take place, for example, in cups, jars, trays, cans, thermoformers, flow wrappers, or bags," adds Christoph Thelen. Packaging lines can also be fed fully automatically. In addition, the company from Lower Saxony provides support in product development if required. The Customer Center in Verden offers space for the development of new manufacturing processes as well as the opportunity to see live demonstrations of machines.

During the 2nd Roundtable, participants will be able to see modern filling and portioning solutions live on site in Neumünster, as the KIN has a VEMAG machine. "We are proud that the students of the institute can work with current technology from our company and thus prepare themselves for their future professional life," says Managing Director Thelen. On display is a small automation solution consisting of the Robot500 filling machine with the FKL attachment for precisely portioning a wide variety of pet food products into jars, cups or cans, for example.
